the occasion of International Labour Day, May 1, 2009, we wish all the
street vendors, market vendors, and hawkers to get success in a struggle
to achieve their rights throughout the world. In the context of Nepal, we are still facing various problems. State doesn’t have any positive perspective towards us. State machinery always tries to displace street vendors prohibiting street side and public land. In this situation we need strong International support and solidarity to build pressure to the State for dignity, basic rights and social justice of street vendors, market vendors, and hawkers. Also we would like to call all street vendors and self employed workers for struggle to secure their demands. We extend our strong solidarity and best wishes to the workers of entire world. With best regards and in warm solidarity Narayan Neupane President NEST-Nepal

Clarisse Ghahoui FUTRAND, Venezuela:
Companions of StreetNet:
On behalf of the Executive Committee of FUTRAND Venezuela we send our strong rejection to any kind of abuse of authority and violation of human rights to workers in the Warwick market. Nothing justifies the attack of persons who are exercising a human right, such as labor. Sport, tournament or whatever else cannot be above the basic needs of life. Solidarity to our comrades who are being affected by arbitrary measures. Resist, tell the authorities that are implementing these absurd measures that "FIFA and the government are going, you are staying". Comrades try to solve through all administrative and
judicial bodies, and then go to international court for violation
of human rights. We need to set a precedent, making law to continue to
defend our right to work in any activity we have to perform well, as
free and independent beings. Slavery was abolished long ago. WE DEMAND
RESPECT, OUR WORK IS DECENT AS ANY OTHER WORK, IN DEPENDENCY.
DECENT WORK FOR ALL - IT IS GOVERNMENTS ROLE TO PROTECT US SOCIALLY.
FEDEVAL:
¡¡SOLIDARITY WITH WORKERS FROM WARWICK MARKET! !(WCCA Campaign
in Durban)
Fellow workers from warwick market Durban - South Africa, receive our solidarity and institutional support from Peru. We reject and condemn these savage and criminal acts against poor street vendors by authorities who are driven by immoral ambition. Ultimately they are going to be judged by the national and international public opinion. In Peru, we are having the a similar situation at Market Caquetá to that being experienced by fellow vendors from WARWICK market - Durban. In Peru they have brutally evicted more than 1,200 street vendors on April 20, all members of Fedeval, Therefore ¡companions! We must join forces and continue fighting for our rights, our families and children, to defeat the bad local authorities who with their institutional strategies are responsible for these abuses against poor workers. ¡¡Viva street vendors of the world! ¡¡Viva vendors from warwick market!
¡¡Viva StreetNet International!
